BYRON SHIRE COUNCIL – LEGAL NEWS

It is of note that the Byron Shire Council has developed a new Shire wide Local Environmental Plan (LEP). This is apparently available on Council’s website under Council business papers.

The next step is to see if the State Government Planning Department will endorse the Shire wide LEP.

It is hoped that this process will not mean that the plan is on exhibition over the Christmas holidays as there are likely to be significant changes to zoning and planning controls which affect development rights.
